This new entry in the Intra-Matic lineup will be available from Hamilton this summer and starts at $2195 on leather, or $2245 on the stainless steel bracelet. Both options do an excellent job of highlighting the subtle dial color. You can choose from a rich brown leather strap or a fine mesh stainless steel bracelet. The white sub dials really pop against the green, while the tachymeter scale (also rendered in white) ties the whole piece together. The tone of green is light and neutral, making it one of the less intense green watches out there. The kinematic chain has been improved from barrel to escapement, the escapement itself is more reliable, a beefed up mainspring bumps the power reserve to 60 hours, and a custom monoblock rotor has been added for some visual flair.Ī pale green color makes up the base color for the panda-style dial on the new Intra-matic. The movement is based on Valjoux’s 7753, which features several technical improvements over the base movement. When fully powered up, it’ll tick for a surprisingly long 60 hours between windings. Inside the Intra-Matic is the impressive H-31 automatic chronograph movement. The resulting look is clean, concise, and legible, but it’s not without its fair share of classic American design character. ![]() On the dial itself, you’ll find two chronograph registers and a date complication at 6 o’clock. A tachymeter scale outlines the dial underneath the sapphire crystal. The case design is simple and elegant, with no external bezels to be found. On the right side of the case, you’ll find an oversized and textured crown, flanked on either side by a slightly elongated chronograph pusher. ![]() It’s not the thinnest case out there at 14.45mm thick, but it’s well within the range expected from an automatic chronograph. Measuring in at 40mm, the stainless steel case features polished surfaces and a simple design. While the color of the dial on this release is new, the base watch remains the same charming automatic chronograph. Hamilton’s modern Intra-Matic has been around for a few years now, but it has traditionally stuck to black and white dials with contrasting chronograph sub dials. ![]()
